From the local electrical goods shop of course. Or maybe player shops.

What can you buy from there?

Televisions, Radios, <insert format> player, add ons for Televisions like a VCR.

I thought this was a game?

It is. But I would prefer to call it, a life simulation of the FFVII world.

Haha, so I can tape adult material onto a tape and sell it to someone?

No because adult material is definetly not allowed on this game. I thought of ways to keep it in, but in the end, its not possible to keep it. Anyone found transmiting any adult material by any way will be permantely banned from the game. This also applies to people who are found to be transmitting any racist, sexist etc material. For example, broadcasting this material on a TV station will result in serious conquences.

Oh, tell me about televisions!

They can be set up anywhere with a plug! Although, buying a extension lead and putting it in the middle of town is a bit stupid! As it could get stolen by a passer-by. You can safely put it in your house (family house included).

How many channels do televisions have?

Upon launch there will be a few free channels and some channels that you will have to pay for (like Cable, SKY etc). Apart from my channel and a few other members channels, they will be NPC channels. But gradually when some rich players afford to start up a TV station, there will be many. Players can choose to either (A) Make their channel free to everyone or (B) Make it like cable and SKY where you have to pay monthly (or when ever you set it). The local electrical store has details for every TV station in the world. Each one has a description so you can choose what channels you want to buy. The money goes straight from your bank to the owner of the TV station's bank. So there will be a lot of channels broadcasting events 24/7.

How do TV stations make money?

If they are a pay to view channel, they make money from there subscribers. If they choose to sell TV guides instead of giving them out free. They can make money that way. Also from the stock market in the Shin-Ra times and finally, from advertising! Imagine, having your weapons making business on televisons around the world! I recommend trying to get a prime time slot like between chocobo races. So, they earn a lot of money, although it costs a lot to run, its worth it in the end.

If I'm the owner of a station, what can I put on TV?

Anything you like (except for porn, racist, sexist etc material)! You can broadcast and record live events from around the world! It could be a news station, imagine being a journalist trying to get the first "scoop". Or how about live battles from inside a dungeon? Or maybe just a good old comedy. Shows can be recorded and played when ever you want. And think, your show could be watched by hundreds of people, imagine how famous the actor would be (if it was a film, drama, comedy or something)! The possibities are endless. If you bought the CD version of the game, you can make special effects and stuff for your shows.

How you going to solve the lag issues if the game is this detailed?

Theres always a way. We won't release the game if the lag is unbearable, we will try and fix the lag problem then release it.

So you can record TV onto a VCR tape (or other format)?

Yes, we are looking to put this feature in the game. But don't hold your breath for it. This feature may or not be in the game depending on certain issues.

Can you make official tapes (or other format) to sell in a shop like your own film?

Yes. But, piracy is always around somewhere!

Huh? Are you including piracy?

Yes, although we have yet to devise a system for it. All I can say is, you may risk a hefty fine if caught. But we haven't yet made a system for how players may get caught. This like VCR's may not be included in the final game.

Not much different from the "Tell me about televisions" question. So read that.

Can I make my own music for a radio station?

Yes, but you may only be able to do so in the CD version (not downloadable one). Well, I will try my best to put it in the downloadable one though.

What kind of music can you make? And is it hard?

You can make all kinds of up to date music. As in the general FAQ, music you can dance and chill out to. And no, hopefully, it won't be hard. NOTE: Remember you need to train up your music skill to make better music!

Can I sell my music?

Yes, just like films you can make. You also get money in your bank if radios ever play your song. Thanks to the powerful company options.

Hold it right there, I may have given you the wrong impression by explaining it in so much detail which makes you think everyone can get one. This is simply not true! Not many players will own a TV station, not because there is no space for them but because they are way expensive. And it costs thousands and thousands of gil to keep them going! But still, if you start a successful business you can venture into the world of TV and Radio.
